Empowering Monroe County Through Awareness.

We’re building partnerships, sharing knowledge, and taking action to prevent gun-related harm — one conversation at a time.

OUR MISSION

To save lives and reduce the harm caused by firearms and gun violence through partnerships that provide education, support, and resources.

We bring together residents, law enforcement, educators, and health professionals — because safety begins with connection.

Who We Are

The Monroe County Community Partnership for Gun Safety (MCCPGS) is a county-led collaboration uniting law enforcement, educators, healthcare professionals, community leaders, and residents.

Together, we’re working to reduce firearm-related injuries and deaths through open dialogue, data-driven programs, and meaningful outreach.

Our approach is nonpartisan, evidence-based, and focused on solutions that bring people together rather than divide them.

Our Story

This partnership began with a simple idea — that community safety is everyone’s responsibility.

By connecting local organizations, health providers, and families, MCCPGS was formed to ensure Monroe County remains a place where every resident feels safe, supported, and informed.

Since its founding, MCCPGS has launched county-wide initiatives promoting responsible gun ownership, youth education, and mental health awareness. Each program is rooted in collaboration and compassion.

Our Four Core Goals

1. Promote Responsible Gun Ownership
Provide tools, training, and resources that encourage safe handling and secure storage.

2. Address Mental Health & Firearm Access

Expand awareness, reduce stigma, and connect individuals to trusted care providers.

3. Engage and Educate Youth

Empower young people through peer-led education, contests, and community activities.

4. Support High-Risk Communities

Offer outreach, workshops, and data-informed interventions in areas most affected by gun violence.
