You Are Not Alone. Help Is Here.

Mental health and community safety are deeply connected.

If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available — confidential, local, and ready when you are.

Why Mental Health Matters

Every conversation about gun safety is also a conversation about mental health.

By learning to recognize warning signs, connecting people to care, and creating safe spaces for discussion, we can save lives and strengthen our community.

MCCPGS works with Monroe County agencies and state programs to make sure help is always within reach — for individuals, families, and first responders.

Recognize the Signs

Early awareness can change the outcome. Some signs that someone may be in crisis include:

  • Withdrawing from friends or family
  • Talking about hopelessness or feeling like a burden
  • Sudden changes in behavior or mood
  • Increased substance use
  • Interest in or access to firearms during emotional distress

If these signs sound familiar, reach out right away. You don’t have to handle it alone.
